In March 2014 Campia Turzii City Hall, held a press conference the team R.E.A.D.C. and local government presented the results of the first actions of microchipping and registration free with stray dogs in the city. Were invited all those who contributed to the success of this pilot action for Romania, among whom the deputy mayor Dorin Lojigan and veterinarians Alin Calin Irimieş and Mărginean.
Campia Turzii is the first town in Romania where all the stray dogs were microchipped administrative radius. This activity was made possible through a protocol between R.E.A.D.C. Turda and Local Council, on 1 November 2013. Under this protocol, city residents have benefited from microchipping, identify and monitor their pets for free. Thus, RE.A.D.C. and our partners in Germany, Tasso e.V. were obliged to bear all costs of identification and monitoring of stray dogs.
At the municipal level were 1387 dogs microchipped with owner. Each animal was inserted a microchip attached to collar a plaque containing a unique serial identification and switchboard number R.E.A.D.C., that those who find a dog or its owners can call in case of finding, loss or theft. Owners of dogs have received a card with your personal data and the animals held. In the same campaign, local authorities were given free four readers ISO identifying microchip a dog from a distance of several meters.
Also, R.E.A.D.C. announced that it will donate four transport cages, which will be located on an area indicated by Campia Turzii City Hall, where they will keep for 2-3 days dogs recovered from the streets, as pet owners with time to recover loved animals even near them, in the municipality of the same day. This measure is particularly important because the shelter is in another city, and many owners because of old age, lack of transportation or material means, give the animal drag.
Our association has proposed that recorded and sent to shelter animals be separated from unregistered or sick. The recorded R.E.A.D.C., the animal dewormed, vaccinated against rabies and monitored, thus have more chances to be adopted.
Also in the same campaign, dog owners were told that they can sterilize the animals free. The action was successfully launched in the spring, after they have drawn up lists of applicants.
Action R.E.A.D.C. and Tasso e.V. Germany, in collaboration with the City Turzii has prevented its obligations under the law that requires animal microchipping and sterilization of animals not race, otherwise, their owners being liable to fine.
The report offered the press conference, stated: "In the early days we recorded a very low percentage of attendance, although dog owners were notified of the obligation to report. We jointly decided to continue the action, moving us new neighborhoods and streets of housing in housing, together with veterinarians, employees and collaborators contracted R.E.A.D.C., thus effecting a complete inventory of all owners of dogs in the city. (...) I went hard work of persuasion to explain cetăţemilor role, importance and seriousness of the campaign, and that the whole action being paid R.E.A.D.C, juveniles do not have any additional expenses. "
Yulia Iozsa, CEO R.E.A.D.C. Turda:
"We are, in this way, we inform you that this campaign began to bear fruit. Many owners have announced our central telephone R.E.A.D.C. The death of dogs, the change of ownership, or actually did not have the financial resources to maintain that dog and turned him over to the shelter in Bogata. Another significant success is that two dog owners have lost their municipality and dogs were recovered in less than 24 hours after the loss. The person who found our dog called the central telephone number given on wafer and automatically dog owner has recovered in less than a few hours, thus avoiding additional costs to the city for shelter. "
Marin Bleidner, project coordinator:
"Besides transponder that is injected dog owner receives a badge and a medallion animal identification. The medallion has the same code-number as the microchip and a whistleblower Optical anyone sees a dog with medallion call Central READC and we identify the animal is returned to the owner. "
Philip McCreight, Tasso representative e.V. Germany:
"Tasso has an experience of 31 years in the identification and registration of pets and has the largest database of animals in Europe. We are very pleased to have had the opportunity to participate in this project and I would like to thank the City of Plain Turzii, and READC who have worked hard on this project and believe that this project is a great example because it is the first city in Romania, as far as I know, having all dogs registered. as the European Commission noted , registration of dogs is very important for the company, this step is very important in registration of animals, but it is very realistic to solve the problem of stray dogs and to raise public awareness by education growth dogs. I hope that this example to pass Plain Turzii beyond and have the opportunity, in collaboration with READC to register more animals and also to have a large database as pets in Romania. "
Excerpt from report R.E.A.D.C .:
"The first major event in the recovery of a lost dog was Emil Moldovan citizen, on 12.15.2013, which has restored the animal only after a few hours of his disappearance, the permanent central READC contacted by telephone by a resident of Campia Turzii. the citizen saw the dog, called the number READC on wafer reflective, conveying the license key on the back plate mounted to collar the dog. This confirmed the importance of contact optical immediately wafer READC, indicating "Attention! This dog has master is registered ", thus avoiding capture, transport shelter, unnecessary suffering and additional costs."
Leadership and citizens Municipality Campia Turzii can be proud to be the first city in Romania that has a complete inventory and current dogs, most modern and efficient identification, the combination wafer-microchip-central permanent and recording them in a system of international search.
