REQUEST TO THE AUTHORITIES FOR THE RIGHTS OF CITIZENS

 As you well know, our association obtained a huge victory in January, when the Constitutional Court of Romania admitted the exception of unconstitutionality of the stipulations of the Art. 134 from the Government’s Emergency Ordinance no. 155/2001, and decided that the rabies vaccination of domestic carnivores should no longer be conditional upon the prior microchipping of the animals.

 However, citizens have not been informed about their rights, violating the art.31 align. 2 from the Constitution of Romania. Also, A.N.S.V.S.A. did not transmit publicly and mediatically the list of veterinarians who are required to do this FREE of charge service. 

  Because of this, we sent a request to all Prefectures from Romania, by which we communicated them the Constitutional Court’s Decision and requested them to take the necessary steps in order to inform the citizens about the effects of this Decision. 

  We hope that they will understand the importance of citizens’ informing and act accordingly, requesting the publication, respectively the displaying in all the noticeboards of the City Halls and the administrative-territorial units the list of the veterinary clinics performing sanitary-veterinary activities included in the program of actions for the surveillance, prevention, control and eradication of animal diseases.
