Registrul Electronic al Animalelor de Companie si Domestice Turda (R.E.A.D.C.), together with partner Tasso e.V. Germany, propelled Campia Turzii city as the only city in Romania with the entire canine population registered, microchipped and vaccinated against rabies free.
As of 10/06/2015, in all schools in the city of Campia Turzii was kicked off the presentation of an educational project called "ABC Education", which ended on 19.06.2015.
Our team presented this Abecedar education for children in 35 classes (890 students), covering the entire cycle mayor of Campia Turzii.
"ABC" was distributed free headmistress, teachers and individual student together with a request to forward this information on both parents and close ones.
The project was greeted with enthusiasm by students and teachers, and interest in them, ardor children and how they interacted with us during presentations, we were very happy.
The fact that most children have pets at home to radically influenced their interest in the topics presented to us.
Educational goals of the project were:
Improving awareness and civic culture;
The importance of public safety and public health in Romania;
Prevention and education is the surest and cheapest way to avoid incidents.
R.E.A.D.C. veterinarian, Ariana Fenesan, presented some of the benefits, responsibilities and risks that arise with owning a pet.
Thus, students were informed of where to buy / adopt a pet, you need to consider before opting for a breed of dog, you should consult a veterinarian, how to care for pets and what responsibilities they have when owning a pet, both in terms of veterinary and administrative point of view. I also stressed the obligations they have during the walk dogs.
Another purpose of this presentation was to inform students about rabies. Our doctor veterinary presented risks they are exposed to both children and adults. The students learned how to identify the signs of a carrier animal rabies, how to protect against infection and binding measures in exceptional cases.
In addition to these topics, we addressed the obligation of microchipping and registration of all dogs and the vaccination against rabies in dogs and cats. It was explained to students the benefits of optical marking animals owner and measures indicated for finding such an animal.
We were pleased to see that the optical medallions and R.E.A.D.C cards have been recognized by students, and that they already knew the benefits of these services in the recovery of lost puppies. This demonstrates once again the success of previous campaigns in the first phase of our project, which took place in the municipality of Campia Turzii. In this first stage held a campaign registration and microchipping of dogs with owners, allocating a wafer optical reflectors and a ticket R.E.A.D.C., with which owners can contact the PBX permanent.
On 17.06.2015, we organized a televised presentation for two primary school in the school "Avram Iancu", in the municipality of Campia Turzii. Filming took place, of course, after the students' parents gave their consent by signature.
At the event we invited the leadership of the municipality, the managements of the participating schools and the media, to get acquainted with our team and with the delegate Association Tasso e.V. Germany, and to attend a live presentation of "primer education" to the students.
